About Jennifer Kemmeter

Jennifer Kemmeter is the author of the beloved Build It!, Play It!, and Chess for Kids book series — hands-on, step-by-step guides designed to make learning fun and accessible for children of all ages.

Jennifer's passion for education and creativity has driven her to create books that meet children where they are — whether they're building with LEGO bricks, learning their first piano chords, strumming a guitar, playing the recorder, or discovering the world of chess.

Her Play It! piano books, co-authored with musician Antimo Marrone, use a unique color-coded system that makes reading music approachable for young beginners. The series spans three levels and covers everything from children's songs to classical music, jazz, folk, and holiday favorites.

Jennifer lives and works with a deep belief that every child deserves tools that spark curiosity and build confidence. Her books are used by families, teachers, and homeschoolers around the world.
